HDM Super Taper Files Gold NiTi Rotary System (Heat Activation) 25mm
HDM NiTi Rotary System (Heat Activation)
Premium Endodontic Solutions by Meddent Dental Supplies
The HDM NiTi Rotary System is engineered for high-precision root canal treatments. Featuring advanced Heat Activation technology, these files provide clinicians with the perfect balance of flexibility and strength. Both the Super Taper and Gold Flexi series are now available in three distinct lengths to ensure you have the right tool for every clinical scenario.
HDM Super Taper Files Gold
The Super Taper series is designed for efficient shaping using a variable taper technique. These files are highly resistant to cyclic fatigue and offer excellent debris removal.
Available Lengths
- 21mm: Ideal for molars and patients with limited mouth opening.
- 25mm: The standard length for universal application.
- 31mm: Specialized length for long-rooted teeth, such as canines.
- 19mm: Specifically for the SX Orifice Opener.
Size Specifications & Sequence
- SX (Orifice Opener): 19mm length, 300 RPM, 3.0 N.cm torque.
- S1 (Shaping 1): Available in 21, 25, and 31mm. 250 RPM, 3.0 N.cm torque.
- S2 (Shaping 2): Available in 21, 25, and 31mm. 250 RPM, 1.0 N.cm torque.
- F1 (Finishing 1): Available in 21, 25, and 31mm. 250 RPM, 1.6 N.cm torque.
- F2 (Finishing 2): Available in 21, 25, and 31mm. 250 RPM, 2.0 N.cm torque.
- F3 (Finishing 3): Available in 21, 25, and 31mm. 250 RPM, 2.0 N.cm torque.
Clinical Advantages
- Heat-Activated NiTi: Enhances flexibility and prevents the file from "rebounding" in curved canals.
- Non-Cutting Safety Tip: Ensures the file stays centered in the canal, preventing ledging and apical transportation.
- Comprehensive Length Selection: With 21mm, 25mm, and 31mm options, you can treat everything from short molars to exceptionally long canines with ease.
- High Cyclic Fatigue Resistance: Significantly reduces the risk of instrument separation within the canal.

How to Use
Recommended Clinical Protocol
For optimal results and to ensure the longevity of your HDM files, follow this standardized endodontic sequence.
Step 1: Access & Initial Exploration
- Create a proper access cavity and locate all canal orifices.
- Use a #10 or #15 K-File to explore the canal and establish a manual glide path.
- Determine the Working Length (WL) using an apex locator and confirmatory radiograph.
Step 2: Orifice Enlargement (Coronal Flaring)
- Use the HDM SX (Orifice Opener) at 300 RPM.
- Gently enlarge the coronal third of the canal to allow for easier access and better irrigation penetration.
- Pro-Tip: Always use a lubricant like EDTA during this stage.
Step 3: Shaping Sequence (Super Taper Gold)
- S1 (Purple): Use to the depth of the coronal two-thirds or full WL if resistance is low.
- S2 (White): Follow to the full Working Length.
- Note: Use a gentle "brushing" motion against the canal walls on the outstroke.
Step 4: Finishing Sequence (Super Taper or Gold Flexi)
Depending on the canal anatomy and apical size, proceed with the finishing files:
- F1 (Yellow - 20/07): Achieve the final shape at the apex.
- F2 (Red - 25/08): If the #25 manual file is loose at WL, proceed to F2.
- F3 (Blue - 30/09): For larger canals or if the #30 manual file is loose at WL.
- Gold Flexi Refills (30/04 or 30/06): Use these for cases requiring a specific constant taper or when you need the extra flexibility of the Flexi series to navigate apical curvatures safely.
Step 5: Irrigation & Recapitulation
- Irrigate copiously with Sodium Hypochlorite (NaOCl) between every file change.
- Recapitulate with a small K-file (#10) to ensure the canal remains free of debris and the apical foramen is patent.
Safety & Maintenance Tips
- Visual Inspection: Always inspect the file flutes before and after use. If you notice any unwinding or deformation, discard the file immediately.
- Single-Patient Use Recommended: While autoclavable, single-use is recommended to prevent cross-contamination and minimize the risk of cyclic fatigue failure.
- Never Force the File: If you meet resistance, withdraw the file, irrigate, and go back to a smaller manual K-file to clear the path.
- Length Selection: * Use 21mm for molars to improve access and visibility.
- Use 25mm for standard cases.
- Use 31mm specifically for long canines or anterior teeth to ensure the motor head does not obstruct your view.
1. Clinical Protocol: HDM Super Taper Files Gold
Best for: Efficient crown-down shaping and quick debris removal in standard cases.
Step 1: Scout & Glide Path
- Explore the canal using a #10 K-File to established Working Length (WL).
- Create a smooth manual glide path up to a #15 K-File.
Step 2: Coronal Flaring (SX)
- Use the SX (Gold) at 300 RPM / 3.0 N.cm.
- Use a "brushing" motion away from furcation to remove restrictive dentin and enlarge the orifice.
Step 3: Shaping Sequence (S1 & S2)
- S1 (Purple Ring): Use to the depth of the coronal two-thirds. If it reaches WL easily, proceed.
- S2 (White Ring): Follow to the full Working Length.
- Note: These files are designed to shape the upper and middle thirds of the canal.
Step 4: Finishing Sequence (F1, F2, F3)
- F1 (Yellow Ring - 20/07): Take to full WL. Gauge the apex with a #20 manual K-File. If the K-file is snug, shaping is complete.
- F2 (Red Ring - 25/08): Use if the #20 K-file was loose. Gauge with a #25 manual file.
- F3 (Blue Ring - 30/09): Use if the #25 K-file was loose.
- Irrigation: Always irrigate with NaOCl and use EDTA lubricant between every file change.
Key Maintenance Differences
- Super Taper Gold: These are more "aggressive" cutters. They work best with a Brushing Motion on the outstroke to widen the canal.
- Gold Flexi: These are designed for Extreme Flexibility. They should be used with a Pecking Motion, allowing the heat-activated NiTi to gently navigate curves without pre-stressing the metal.
